USDA Slaughtering

Working H Meats abides by the Humane Methods of Livestock and Poultry Slaughter Act and all USDA Livestock Slaughter Regulations. Our facility is staffed with a USDA Inspector on slaughter days and all animals are slaughtered under Federal Meat Inspection.

All records and inspection documentation is kept on site.

All cattle, sheep, swine and poultry are handled in a humane fashion and are rendered insensible with single blow that is rapid and effective. This is done before the animals are shackled hoisted, cast or cut. In all instances we work hard at reducing animal stress. Animals spend 24 hours in stalls with hay and fresh water to quiet them and calm them.

All butchering and meat cutting follows sanitary dressing procedures and packaging.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION PLEASE READ - THESE ARE THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Livestock delivery is required by 6 p.m. on your scheduled drop-off date.
  • After drop-off you must provide cutting specifications within 3 days for Pigs/Sheep/Goat and 5 days for beef. OTHERWISE Working H Meats will process using standard cuts and packaging. Download the necessary processing forms listed.

Slaughtering Fee for Beef

  • Beef Cattle 30+ months of age will be charged a $30.00 per head charge for SRM* removal and disposal. ADDITIONAL SANITATION CHARGE OF $40 WILL BE APPLIED IF 30+ MONTH BEEF ARE NOT DISCLOSED ON RECEIVING LOG WHEN UNLOADED.
  • Beef Fees are based on a 520 lbs minimum carcass weight. This requires a beef to be approximately 900 lbs live weight. If your animal carcass is not at least 520 lbs, a flat rate of $225. Per Half / $450 per whole beef will be charged.
  • Meat Processing/Cutting and Vacuum Packing for Beef as per your instructions is charged at .75¢ per pound based on the hanging weight.

Slaughtering Fee for Pigs

  • Slaughtering Fee for Roaster Hogs is $60 no extra charge for split, butterfly, head and feet on or off.
  • Meat Processing/Cutting and Vacuum Packing for Pig as per your instructions is charged at .75¢ per pound based on the hanging weight.

Slaughtering Fee for Lambs

  • Lambs and Goats are charged a Slaughtering/Processing Fee including cutting to your specifications and vacuum packing.

Pick Up Instructions

  • ALL MEAT MUST BE PICKED UP WITHIN 7 DAYS OF NOTIFICATION OR YOU WILL BE CHARGED A $1 PER DAY HOLDING FEE.
  • All products must be paid in full upon pick-up.
  • All products left for 30 days after first call and notification for pick-up will become property of Working H Meats.

UNLOADING LIVESTOCK AT OUR FACILITY MEANS THE ABOVE TERMS ARE ACCEPTED.
